Semen Gresik Won 3 Patents from DJKI Kemenkumham, Proving Innovative Business and Operational Processes

Rembang, December 15th, 2023 PT Semen Gresik successfully obtained three patents from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

The three simple patents are Prob modified for gas sampling on the input side of the rotary kiln (patent number: IDS000006825), Contact radius adjustment device on a motor that uses a carbon brush lifter (patent number: IDS000006824), Split drive plate to reduce bending of the drive plate on a crossbar type slag cooler (patent number: IDS000006886).

Semen Gresik's simple patent certificate was issued by the DJKI of the Indonesian Ministry of Justice based on law number 13 of 2016 which was issued on October 30 and November 9, 2023.

"The achievement of patents in the production sector is the company's effort to protect the intellectual property rights (IPR) of the Semen Gresik inventor team to support the company's operations," explained the Head of Semen Gresik Management System Unit (SMSG), Nurhadi.

Nurhadi said, the three patents have their respective advantages according to their functions and uses in supporting overall production activities.

He continued; that the acquisition of patents takes a long time. Starting from registration, the process of improving documents, to the period of claims from other parties to the patented invention, to the final stage of substantive examination.

He added that the patent process was carried out independently by a team from Semen Gresik. "With the talents of the employees, we hope to be able to spread the spirit of innovation for the progress of the company," he explained.

In addition to these three inventions, Nurhadi added, there are still 3 inventions from the Semen Gresik inventor team that are proposed to the DJKI Kemenkumham RI to be patented. "Currently, the invention has entered the official news data and is still in the patent process by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property," Nurhadi concluded.
